Last night I reblogged a video made by NASA that had GLaDOS from Portal teach you the difference between Fusion and Fission and I watched it again today (because its awesome and you should really watch it) and noticed this. In portal she is “Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System”
If you include the line just above the acronym that translates to GLaDOS, you’d get NOTGLaDOS. A really cute (and clever) way to bypass the copyright issues around the name.
OH! I didn’t even notice that, thats awesome! :D
I didn’t realize it at first either until I saw people mentioning NOTGLaDOS and then saw the credits and was like “….oh!” XD
Heh heh heh.
I think Valve let them do it (which makes it even better, go Valve!), because if you go to 8:47 you will see on the bottom of the screen “Thanks, Valve! Portal © Valve”
That’s definitely even better. I didn’t know about that - and that’s awesome. I’ve always had the sense Valve was a pretty cool company about this kind of thing.
They definitely let them do it! When they’re flipping through the manual, it, rather prominently, displays the Aperture logo.
Valve is just…they are the best company.
This is just the best video.
I swear, if GLaDOS taught classes the world’s collective IQ would at least double.
When The Avengers came out I wanted Clint and Natasha to be secret!married so bad, but now after The Winter Soldier I want it even more because Steve finds out and then his first thought is oh my god I kissed a married woman and he doesn’t know whether or not to confess because it was work-related but his conscience is eating away at him and finally he gives in but then he just can’t because Clint’s laughing so damn hard he can’t even hear himself speaking.
